About Us

BACS is a grassroots community network initiated by the New York City Coalition Against Hunger. We are an alliance of food pantries, soup kitchens, and community development organizations in the Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, Prospect Heights, Crown Heights and Flatbush neighborhoods of Brooklyn. The purpose of our network is to share information and resources, as well as work on joint projects to enhance our services and promote both community development and individual empowerment. We believe that through collaboration and solidarity we can alleviate hunger and promote the economic strength of our neighborhoods.
